Genell Sandberg, ph.D.

Dr. Sandberg received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Dakota. She is a licensed psychologist in Iowa and is also licensed as a Health Services Provider in Iowa. She completed a clinical internship with a forensic psychology focus at Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero, California. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Addictive Behaviors Research Center at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.


Dr. Sandberg has held numerous clinical positions over the years and has worked in a wide variety of mental health settings. She has also done extensive public speaking and training on a variety of topics. Her Curriculum Vitae is available on this site. She has been in private practice for the last 34 years and is the sole owner of Parkview Psychological Services, P.C., which is a private mental health practice established in 1989 in Sioux City, Iowa. At present, her general practice primarily involves providing clinical services to adults.

Matthew cihak, l.m.h.c.

Matthew received his Master of Arts degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of South Dakota.  He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa, and he is also certified as a Co-Occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomate and as a National Certified Counselor. 

 

 Matthew’s clinical experience comes from working with both adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings.  He has worked with adolescents who have struggled with behavioral and mental health issues.  Matthew has also worked with both adolescents and adults who have struggled with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.  His specialty areas include Depression, Anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, Addictive Behaviors, Conduct Disorder, LGBT issues, as well as Couples, Family, and Group counseling.

 Matthew also has experience in the areas of clinical supervision and program management.  In addition to his clinical experience, Matthew has extensive experience developing and presenting trainings on a variety of topics to different organizations and audiences.

Samantha Gee, office manager

Samantha has been the office manager of Parkview Psychological Services since July 1, 2018.  She has over 15 years of customer service experience.

Samantha received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Administrative Office Management from Western Iowa Tech Community College.  Her friendly demeanor puts clients at ease and characterizes the welcoming atmosphere of the practice.
